Expectations for Production Resumptions in Myanmar Strengthen, SHFE Tin Continues to Pull Back [Flash News]

Published: May 30, 2025 09:36

The center of SHFE tin's night session shifted downward, and the downward trend continued at the beginning of today's daytime session, with the most-traded contract falling by over 2%. Recently, the market has reacted strongly to rumors about the resumption of production and payment of fees in the Wa region. According to SMM, currently, few enterprises are paying fees to obtain mining licenses, with many adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Most major ore traders have not paid the management fees. Moreover, the current inspections at the China-Myanmar border are relatively strict, and the customs clearance procedures for most large-scale equipment and relevant mining personnel are cumbersome. After the Labour Day holiday, some downstream processing enterprises gradually resumed work, and the demand for restocking at low prices was somewhat released, but transactions at high prices remained sluggish.
